York Times Photojournalist Captures. FOR US, HE’S DESCRIBING HIS PROJECT IN HIS OWN WORDS ♪ >> THE REASON THE PIECE EXISTS IS BECAUSE THE NEW YORK CITY.
THAT WE KNEW, BUT AT THE SAME TIME CELEBRATE THE RESILIENCE OF THE NEW YORKERS THAT STAYED HERE. York Times Photojournalist Captures.
THE RESILIENCE THAT I’VE WITNESSED IN THIS CITY IN THIS TIME HAS GIVEN ME GREAT HOPE THE SERIES OPENS WITH THE CITY RUPTURED, WHICH IS THE MAIN HEADLINE OF THE PIECE, AND THESE ARE.
THE SORT OF BIG OVERVIEW PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE SUBJECTS THAT WE’RE ABOUT TO GET INTO. YOU HAVE A PICTURE OF A WOMAN WITH A CHILD LOOKING.
AT A HUGE STEAM DUCT AND ESSENTIALLY ABANDONED MIDTOWN.
AND THE WAY THAT THE WOMAN IS LOOKING IS ALMOST BEWILDERMENT, AND I FELT VERY MUCH THE SAME WAY WALKING AROUND MIDTOWN.
IT’S VERY HARD TO ACTUALLY SEE THESE TWO GROUPS OF PEOPLE.
THE MOST VULNERABLE AND PEOPLE WHO ARE GETTING BY OKAY IN EXACTLY.
BRUNCH
THE SAME SPACE SO THIS IS AT A BRUNCH IN SOHO, AND THERE’S A MAN GOING THROUGH THE GARBAGE LOOKING FOR FOOD I DON’T COME HOME FROM.
A SHOOT LIKE THAT AND THINK, LIKE, GREAT.
I GOT IT, LIKE ALL OF THESE IMAGES, LIKE THERE’S A LOT OF REALLY DIFFICULT IMAGES TO MANAGE IN HERE YOU SEE.
A LINE OF 400 PEOPLE WAITING FOR FOOD, AND YOU GO TEN BLOCKS UP THE STREET, AND YOU GOT.
A LAMBORGHINI PARKED BEHIND A ROLLS-ROYCE, ON THE STREET PARKING.
I DON’T WANT THIS TO BE AN ESSAY THAT JUST CELEBRATES NEW YORK. ALSO WANT IT TO VERY MUCH DOCUMENT THIS MAJOR HISTORIC EVENT THAT THE CITY HAS GONE THROUGH.
I WANT READERS TO TAKE AWAY A PROFOUND SENSE THAT WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH, WE ARE GOING THROUGH, A MAJOR WORLDWIDE.
AND HISTORIC MOMENT AND THAT TOGETHER.
THIS WILL PASS AND THAT WE CAN BRING BACK, AND WECK W, IL L NOBRT INJUSTG NEW.
